NINE ONE COFFEE ORGANIC FARM

Nine One Coffee Organic Farm was previously a tea (Miang in Thai) plantation, hence we refer to it as a 'Miang forest.' The tea is used for masticatory reasons by fermenting the leaves, wrapping them, and chewing them as an appetizer to help with energizing and alertness. We planted coffee as a replacement due to declining of Miang consumption without damaging the ecosystem.

แต่เดิมนั้นเป็นพื้นที่ปลูกเมี่ยงบริเวณนี้จึงได้มีชื่อว่า ‘ป่าเมี่ยง’ เมี่ยงที่ว่านี้คือชากินใบที่ชาวบ้านมักนำใบมามัดก่อนนำไปหมักดอง เอาไว้เคี้ยวเล่นระหว่างอาหารหลัก ช่วยให้กระฉับกระเฉงจากสารคาเฟอีนที่มาจากใบชา แต่ในปัจจุบันคนไม่นิยมรับประทานเมี่ยงแล้ว ทำให้ไม่มีรายได้เข้ามาสู่คนในพื้นที่ เราจึงต้องหาพืชชนิดอื่นมาปลูกทดแทน เพื่อที่จะไม่ไปทำลายพื้นที่ป่าที่อุดมสมบูรณ์นี้

การที่จะรักษาธรรมชาตินี้ไว้ กาแฟจึงเป็นทางเลือกที่ตรงกับความต้องการของเรา เพราะกาแฟนั้นเป็นพืชที่มีความพิเศษกว่าพืชชนิดอื่นเนื่องจากกาแฟสามารถปลูกร่วมกับต้นไม้อย่างอื่นได้ ไม่ต้องไปตัดต้นไม้ที่มีอยู่แต่เดิม

To create an environmentally sustainable plantation, we believe that coffee is the best crop for our site because it grows easily without requiring any tree chopping.

กาแฟทางภาคเหนือส่วนใหญ่ปลูกบนดอยปลูกที่แหล่ง ‘ต้นน้ำ’ ถ้าหากแหล่งต้นน้ำไม่แปดเปื้อนก็จะทำให้คนที่อยู่ในเมืองหรืออยู่ที่ ‘ปลายน้ำ’ ได้รับผลกระทบน้อยลง การปลูกพืชแบบ Organic ไม่ใช่แค่ส่งผลกระทบต่อธรรมชาติและผู้บริโภคเท่านั้น แต่ยังส่งผลถึงสุขภาพของคนท้องถิ่นที่ทำงานในไร่และคนในชุมชนด้วย จุดนี้เองกาแฟจึงเป็นเหมือนพระเอกที่เป็นทั้งพืชเศรษฐกิจที่สร้างรายได้ให้คนในชุมชนและดูแลสิ่งแวดล้อมไปด้วยในตัว

Contaminated water from the Northern region, the source of all water, has the potential to ruin the entire water reservoir. Organic farming reduces environmental damage and agricultural pesticide use, resulting in better human health and welfare for both consumers and farmers. As a result, an organic coffee farm can help locals earn money while also looking after their homes.

SEED TO CUP จากเมล็ดสู่ถ้วยดื่ม

Nine One Coffee Organic Farm เริ่มปลูกกาแฟต้นแรกเมื่อปี พ.ศ.2541 (ค.ศ.1998) แล้วนำเมล็ดกาแฟที่ผลิตได้ทั้งหมดมาแปรรูป โดยการคั่วและชงเป็นเครื่องดื่มด้วยตนเอง โดยจดทะเบียนในนาม Nine One Coffee อย่างเป็นทางการเมื่อวันที่ 27 สิงหาคม พ.ศ.2547 ถือได้ว่าเป็นผู้บุกเบิก Seed to Cup กาแฟไทยแบรนด์หนึ่งในยุคนั้น

Nine One Coffee Organic Farm was founded in 1998 with the objective of elevating Thailand’s coffee industry via the use of our own coffee. We processed our coffee and, on August 27, 2003, launched the Nine One Coffee Shop. In Thailand, we are among the first to grow, process, and brew coffee using our own coffee beans.
